Midweek Musing: Treasures That Last In his book The Road to Character , New York Times columnist David Brooks contrasts two sets of virtues. He dubs them the “resumé virtues” and the “eulogy virtues.” Resumé virtues are the achievements the world tells us to pursue—success, status, wealth, and recognition. These are the things that look impressive on paper but often fade quickly with time. Many of these can be measured. Researchers would say this was quantitative data. Eulogy
